Schloss Arenberg - Cultural and Scientific Center

In August 2001, the Salzburg Stiftung purchased Schloss Arenberg, a 19th century palace within walking distance of the center of Salzburg.

In May 2005, renovation was completed and Schloss Arenberg began operating as a state-of-the-art conference center for the Open Medical Institute's (OMI) Salzburg Medical Seminars and as headquarters for the Salzburg Stiftung of the AAF. Schloss Arenberg is a center for art and science. During the academic year activities focus on the sciences. Physicians from NewYork Presbyterian Hospital, The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, Hospital for Special Surgery, Duke University Medical Center, and The Cleveland Clinic meet with young English-speaking physicians from countries in transition and share their knowledge and expertise with them during one-week seminars in all medical specialties.

During the summer months, Schloss Arenberg is home to AAF’s cultural programs linked to the Salzburg Music Festival and the Vienna Philharmonic, including children’s music camps, as well as to the Salzburg Summer Academy, founded by Oskar Kokoschka.
