“Fabiola Pérez Juaréz – 2010” reads the name tag of a doctor who warmly welcomes us at the OMI leaders’ reunion held on March 26, 2025, in Mexico City. 2010? Time flies!
It was 15 years ago when the OMI hosted the first Mexican doctors in Salzburg. Pediatric cardiologist Dr. Pérez Juárez was one of them, taking part in the cardiac imaging program. Two years later, she returned for a pediatric cardiology course and ever since has remained actively involved in the OMI/ AMSA activities while building her career in Mexico City. She is one of the many enthusiastic OMI alumni who accepted AMSA’s invitation to this very special gathering, filled with fond memories. It was truly wonderful to see so many familiar faces and to hear what our fellows have been up to.
It is moments like these that reaffirm our mission – seeing our fellows thrive is the greatest reward.
